Unpopular opinion: I swore by manual depth checks until a job on the Ohio River last month.

After seeing the sonar map from a Humminbird Solix unit, I realized I'd been missing a whole layer of bottom detail for years. Anyone else make a switch like that and feel like you were working blind before?

Yeah, that "turning on a light" feeling is so real.

A fishing guide I know switched to side imaging for finding brush piles. He said it was like turning on a light in a dark room, showing stuff he'd poled right over for a decade. The detail on those new units is a total game changer. What model were you running on the Ohio?
