Corner beads on every outside corner: necessary protection or over-engineering? I've changed my mind after a decade in the trade.

After a decade in the trade, you realize corner beads are ESSENTIAL for durability. I've seen too many corners get chipped without them, even in low-traffic areas. Call it over-engineering if you want, but that protection pays off long-term.

My DIY bathroom project proved @carr.elliot right after I dented a corner with a towel, lmao.

Hold on, you're seeing chips in low-traffic areas? That's genuinely surprising to me. I always assumed those spots were safe from wear and tear. If corners are failing there, maybe the installation quality is more critical than the beads themselves. But your point about long-term protection does make me reconsider skipping them in any project. It's just hard to believe that even quiet corners need that level of armor.
