Had to choose between a 10-inch or 12-inch knife for a big ceiling job last week
Went with the 12-inch and it cut my taping passes down by almost a third, which was huge over 1,200 square feet. Anyone have a go-to size for ceilings or does it just depend on the room?

Man, that feeling when the bigger knife just clicks on a ceiling is the best. Watching that 12-inch blade sail across without a bunch of extra passes saves your neck and your time. Stuck with a 10-inch on a popcorn ceiling once and my arms were done after half the room. You ever find the bigger knife makes the mud behave better too, or is that just me?

Ever try a 14-inch on a ceiling or is that just too much blade to handle?

Bigger tools always feel like a flex until you need them, @the_mila, like driving a huge truck for groceries.
