Remember taping with metal corner bead instead of the paper faced stuff?

I dug out some old metal bead from the back of my truck last week and it got me thinking... we used that on every job back in the 90s, now I can't remember the last time I even saw someone pull it out. Do you guys still use it for anything specific, or has everyone gone fully to the paper faced stuff now?

A buddy of mine @alex307 just finished a job and couldn't find metal bead so he ran wood trim instead.

Wood trim? For real? That's wild, man. I can't even picture that holding up the same way, especially on a corner that gets banged by a vacuum or kids running around. Metal bead was just solid, you know? It took a hit and stayed straight, no questions asked. I still keep a few sticks in the shop for tough spots where I know the paper stuff would just crumble. It's not dead to me yet.
