A FedEx driver told me my boxes were working against me in Tulsa

He said I was taping the outer flaps too tight so they bulged out and wrecked my stackability, which costs me about $2.40 extra per shipment on dimensional weight, so I switched to strapping them flat after 2 weeks of testing, has anyone else heard this from a carrier?
