A guy at an EBN meetup last year said my elevator pitch sounded like a robot reading a phone book.
He was blunt. Said it was all features, no feeling. Told me to just say what problem I solve for people in Edmonton. Changed my whole intro. Now I just say 'I help local shops get found online when people search on their phones.' Way better reactions. What's the worst feedback you ever got that actually helped?

Honestly that "features, no feeling" advice sounds overrated. Sometimes people just need the facts straight up.

Totally agree. Got that advice once and it just made everything sound robotic. Facts are fine, but they land better with a bit of human tone.

Yeah I read something the other day about how people remember stories way more than just straight facts. Makes sense, you gotta wrap those facts in something that feels like a real person said it.
