Just blew $400 on a networking event at the Shaw that was basically a room full of sales pitches

I went in hoping to make real connections, but it was just a bunch of people trying to sell me their services, so has anyone found a better group in the city for actual collaboration?

I switched to smaller industry meetups after a bad event like that.

Wait, you had a bad experience big enough to make you change your whole strategy? That must have been seriously awful. Smaller meetups are definitely safer, but it's wild that one event can push you that far. Makes me wonder what actually went down.
