Ever had a meter fail on you? The old school method with the test lamps is a solid backup check, it just works when you really need it.

Wait, you still CARRY test lamps? That's some serious old school gear right there. My meter died once during a really simple check and I was totally stuck. It makes sense to have a backup that doesn't need batteries. I guess the simple tools really do last forever.

Man, I've been there too! My meter went dead on a Friday afternoon and I was miles from the truck. Grabbed the old test lamp and it saved my butt. Never hurts to have something that just works no matter what.
