PSA: I was on a job in Phoenix and saw a guy get a bad shock from a 277 volt light

He thought the circuit was dead but the disconnect was mislabeled. Some guys say you should always meter it yourself, others say you can trust the labels if the building is new. What's your rule for verifying power is off?

Assume every label is lying until your meter proves it right.

Trust labels? I got zapped once because of that. Now I always check it myself, no matter what.
