Serious question, has anyone else tried both the old style fish tapes and the newer fiberglass ones?
I was pulling wire through a long conduit run in a 1960s office building last week, about 150 feet total. The steel tape kept binding up and kinking on me, so I grabbed a buddy's fiberglass tape from his truck. It went through smooth as butter, no kinks, and the tip didn't catch on the couplings. The difference in time and frustration was huge. What other tools have you guys switched to that were a total game changer for conduit work?

Gotta disagree on the fiberglass being better every time. I've had the tips snap off inside a cold, greasy conduit and spent an hour fishing out the broken piece. That steel tape might fight you, but it won't leave you with a bigger problem. For long runs, I still pack the steel and just use more lube.

My buddy's steel tape kinked and locked up a whole run.
