Why I stick with old-school twist-on wire connectors in modern installs
Most electricians I know swear by push-in connectors, but I find twist-ons more reliable for long-term connections. What's your take on this?

That bit about "long-term connections" gets me... it's like how some people still use paper maps or mechanical pencils. The old way just feels more solid sometimes.

Tbh, that solid feeling explains vinyl's comeback.

Have you ever had a push-in connector fail on you, and what did it teach you about the connection? I helped my uncle rewire his garage and we found several push-ins that had loosened over time. The twist-ons from the same era were still tight. It made me wonder if the screw action just lasts longer. Do you think it's about the metal gripping the wire better, or is there something else to it?
