I finally caved and bought a $40 thermal camera for my phone after insisting my old temp gun was fine for 3 years.
It showed a hot capacitor on a TV power board that the gun missed completely, so what other cheap tools have you guys found that actually made a big difference?

Why even bother with more cheap tools when they just give you more stuff to store and more things that can break? That thermal camera probably has a huge margin of error anyway, so how can you really trust it? A temp gun you know how to use is better than a fancy new gadget you don't. Spending more money on the next shiny thing just seems like a waste when you already had a working method.
