I was reading an article about e-waste and the number of phones thrown away each year blew my mind
I found a report from the UN that said over 5 billion mobile phones were dropped in drawers or tossed in 2022 alone. That's a global number, but it really hit me how many potential repairs are just sitting in people's homes gathering dust. It made me think about how we could get more of those devices back into the repair loop instead of the trash. Do you guys ever run trade-in events or something to pull those old units out of closets?

Wow, 5 billion is a crazy number for sure. But honestly, how many of those old phones are even worth fixing? My drawer has a phone from like 2012 that's slower than a snail and the battery is shot. Feels like sometimes it's just tech that's naturally done.

Yeah, totally feel you @victorhill. I had this old Android phone (like a Galaxy S3) that I tried to bring back to life. Got a new battery for it, but the thing was so slow it couldn't even run basic apps anymore. The screen was tiny and it felt like using a calculator. Sometimes the tech is just too far gone, you know? It's not even worth the time or the money to fix it.

Remember my buddy who tried to use his old phone as a music player? It took so long to open the app that the song would be over.
