Just got a 2008 iMac back from the dead after a full recap job on the power supply board.
Honestly, I was ready to scrap it after the third capacitor popped, but a steady hand and a Hakko FX-888D got it booting for the first time in years.

Remember fixing my old GameCube. That power LED felt like a major victory.

That power LED victory is real. My buddy spent a whole weekend trying to get his old PS2 to read discs again. He was about to give up, then he cleaned the laser lens with a cotton swab one more time. The sound of that disc drive finally spinning up, @laura_allen, he yelled so loud I thought he hurt himself. Just that simple fix after all the frustration.
