Rant: My solder job on a game controller turned out funny.
I meant to fix the joystick, but now it beeps when I press it. My friends won't stop laughing.

Some tutorial I watched warned about that exact beep.

Oh man, that beep is a classic! @paul286 is right to warn people. I got the same beep on an old SNES controller. The fix for me was going back with a magnifying glass and looking for any tiny, tiny bridges of solder between points that shouldn't be connected. I found one near a capacitor that was basically invisible. Cleaned that up with some flux and a clean tip, and the beeping stopped. My buddy said it sounded like a sad 8-bit melody before I fixed it.
