Appreciation post: I just learned how many elevator trips the average car makes in a year

I was reading an old maintenance log from a 10-story office building downtown and did the math. One of their main cabs logged over 150,000 trips in a single year. That's over 400 cycles a day, which really puts the wear on door operators and leveling systems into perspective. Has anyone else seen numbers that high for a commercial unit?

That's actually pretty normal for a busy office building, lol.

Right? My old office was like that too, just constant noise. Could never get any quiet work done, lmao.

Ever wonder if they design them that way on purpose? Like, maybe the noise is supposed to keep us all looking busy.
