Debate: lube-free rails vs. monthly greasing on heavy traffic jobs

I spent 6 months running dry guide rails on a 12-stop office building and had zero wear issues, but the old school guys swear monthly greasing is the only way to go. Has anyone else tried skipping the grease on low speed cars?

Cameron's got the right worry though, most guys I know wouldn't try it either. Takes a lot of confidence to run them dry for that long without seeing some wear.

Six months with zero grease? You're braver than me, pal.

Jumped straight into it on a 15-stop building with heavy foot traffic about two years ago. We switched to lube-free rails after the old maintenance guy retired and nobody wanted to grease those things monthly. After a full year, the rails looked almost new with just a bit of dust but no real wear. The car moved smooth and quiet the whole time too. It saved us a ton of man hours since nobody had to schedule monthly greasing anymore. Have you noticed any difference in noise levels on yours running dry?
