Pro tip: a 3-day job in a Chicago high-rise turned into a 2-week nightmare because of a single sheave groove.

The groove was worn just enough to cause a skip we couldn't isolate, and we had to pull the entire assembly. Anyone else ever get fooled by something that subtle?

It's always the tiny things that cause the biggest headaches.

Used to think people were overreacting about small stuff. Then I spent three hours tracing a bad connection to a single bent pin.

Yeah, that's the kind of thing that'll haunt you. Did you catch it with a visual inspection first, or was it only obvious once you started running cable under load? I've seen grooves that look fine until you put real tension on the line.
