Oh man, I feel that. My old Chevy had a similar gremlin that turned out to be a frayed wire in the door boot. Check the wiring harness where it flexes, that's usually the culprit. Saved me a ton of headache once I found it.

My Ford's dome light did the same thing, a broken wire in the rubber boot.

Wait, you found a frayed wire in the door boot yourself? That's some serious detective work, most people just keep replacing fuses forever. Those harnesses are a nightmare to pull apart without breaking the clips.
