Unpopular opinion: I always considered hydraulic fluid sampling overkill until a contaminated batch seized a pump on my watch.

That failure convinced me routine fluid analysis is cheap insurance against catastrophic downtime.

Wait, you actually had a pump seize from contaminated fluid? I mean, I always heard stories but thought it was rare, idk. Maybe it's just me, but that's enough to make me reconsider skipping samples.
