Hot take: I thought local chamber mixers were a waste of a Wednesday night.
Went to one in Akron six months ago expecting stale coffee and sales pitches, but the guy I met there is now my main source for commercial leads. Anyone else have a networking spot they were wrong about?

Read a blog post that said the worst events can have the best people, totally agree with @gavin692 about the bowling alley vibe.

Honestly, the worst one I ever went to was at a bowling alley. Figured it was a total loss, but the weird setting made everyone drop the usual act and just talk. Ended up sharing a lane with my now accountant.
