That time a random coffee chat in Austin led to a 50k project

I almost skipped a casual meetup last month, but a guy I met there introduced me to his partner, who needed a website built fast and paid upfront.

Heard a similar thing from my buddy Jake. He went to a free workshop and ended up chatting with the organizer, who hired him on the spot for a consulting gig. Makes you wonder how many good chances we pass up, right?

Yeah, it's crazy... I probably miss a new chance every single day just by being too lazy to leave my couch. Like, my big "networking" last week was debating the mailman about the weather. Pretty sure that's not leading to a job offer... unless he's secretly hiring for something. Makes me think I should maybe go to a free thing, but then I remember my couch is also free.

It's wild how much depends on just being in the room. Jake was probably relaxed because it was free, not a high-stakes networking event. That casual vibe can make you seem more genuine and open to a real conversation, which people notice.
