TIL the difference between a $50 and a $500 conference ticket
Went to a big startup mixer in Denver last year on a cheap pass and barely talked to anyone. Paid for the full access this month and got into the founders dinner, which led to three solid coffee meetings. Is the price jump always the real barrier to entry for good connections?

Honestly that reminds me of trying to get into a concert with just a lawn ticket. You're there, but you're not really in the room where things happen.

Remember my buddy Dave at that outdoor festival last year? He bought the cheap "sound bleed" pass. He spent the whole night staring at a screen on a pole, listening to a muffled bass line from two stages over. He said it felt like watching a concert through a dirty window.

Ever try to get a decent seat at a movie with one of those cheap Tuesday tickets? You end up behind a pillar.
