Appreciation post: I started adding a drop of jojoba oil to my clay masks
A client with super dry skin in Phoenix kept saying my regular clay masks made her face feel tight and itchy. I was about to skip masks for her entirely, but I remembered an old tip from a class. Last week, I mixed a single drop of pure jojoba oil into the clay mask powder before adding water. The mask still dried and pulled, but her skin felt calm and hydrated after I rinsed it off. She actually booked her next appointment on the spot. Has anyone else tweaked a classic product like this for tricky skin types?

Yeah that "one little tweak can fix everything" is so true. I had a client with eczema who couldn't handle any physical exfoliation. I started mixing her sugar scrub with a heavy dollop of plain shea butter to soften the granules way down. It gave her the gentlest buff without any of the scratching or redness.

Ever see someone's skin just get mad at a product that works for everyone else? My friend has this super reactive rosacea, and her old esthetician kept using this calming gel mask that was supposed to be safe. It always left her bright red and hot. She switched to a new person who literally just mixes that same gel with a splash of the plain aloe vera juice she keeps in her fridge. Same mask, but it comes out of the cooler and goes on cold. It was such a tiny change, but it made all the difference. Her skin finally just chills out instead of freaking out. It's wild how one little tweak can fix everything.

That "skin finally just chills out" part is so real. It's a huge win when you find that one simple fix.
