Read a study that said over 60% of people in a survey think their skin is oily when it's actually dry

I found this in a report from a big skin care company. It makes me think we need to ask better questions during the first visit. How do you guys check for dehydration without just going by what the client says?

Big skincare companies push products. Of course their report says people are confused. They want you to buy more stuff. It's probably not that big a deal in real practice.

Wait, have you actually seen how many people mix up dry and dehydrated skin though? It's a huge deal because using the wrong products can make things way worse. MilesSmith is right, the misdiagnosis thing is super common. I've watched friends wreck their skin barrier by treating oiliness when they just needed more water. Don't you think the confusion comes from all the mixed messages out there?

Wow, I read that too and it's wild how often people misdiagnose their own skin.
