Honestly, I just figured out why my plants kept dying

For years, I'd just water them a little bit whenever I remembered. Last month, I stuck my finger in the soil of my peace lily and it was bone dry an inch down, even though the top looked damp. So I started giving it a full soak once a week until water runs out the bottom. Tbh, it's put out two new leaves already. Anyone else have a simple plant care trick that actually worked?

Ever try putting your plants in the shower? I do that with my bigger ones every few weeks to rinse off dust and give them a real deep water. They seem to perk up a lot after.

Guess my plants were just really thirsty for a dramatic weekly flood.

Yeah, that soak method is a game changer. I used to kill every spider plant I owned until I started doing the same thing. Do you check the weight of the pot too, or just go by the soil?
