My neighbor's comment about my garden made me see it all differently
I was out front pulling weeds yesterday when my neighbor, Mrs. Chen, stopped by. She pointed at my messy flower bed and said, 'You know, I like how you let things grow a bit wild. It looks alive.' For the past three years, I've been stressed trying to make it look neat and perfect like the pictures online. Her simple words hit me right then. I realized I'd been gardening for an imaginary judge, not for myself or the bees and butterflies that actually visit. Now I see the clover and the little volunteer sunflowers as guests, not mistakes. Has anyone else had a moment like that, where someone's offhand remark completely flipped how you see a project?

Wait, you've been stressing over this for three whole years?

Time flies when you're overthinking everything.

My first apartment had a tiny balcony I tried to make perfect. A friend called it a cozy jungle and I stopped fighting the vines. It's so much better when you enjoy it instead of fixing it.
