PSA: I found out how much water my morning coffee really uses
I was reading an article about water footprints last week and it said a single cup of coffee needs about 37 gallons of water to make, mostly from growing the beans. That blew my mind, I had no idea it was that high. I just thought about the water in my kettle. It makes me look at my daily habit a little differently now. Has anyone else come across a fact like this that changed how you see a normal routine?

My coffee habit now feels like a crime scene, sorry emery199.

Eh, that's counting all the farm water though. My coffee's still worth it.

Oh man, don't drag me into this guilt trip! Gavin692's right, it does sound bad when you put it like that. But honestly, if we start counting every drop used on the farm, we'd never enjoy anything. I'm with you, my morning coffee is non-negotiable, water footprint or not. Let Gavin live with his crime scene, I need my cup.
