Serious question, does anyone actually measure their couch before buying it online?
My living room has this weird nook that's exactly 72 inches wide. I measured it like three times before ordering a new couch. The couch arrived and I forgot to account for the armrests being 4 inches each. So now the couch sticks out 8 inches past the nook and blocks half the hallway. I feel like an idiot. Has anyone else dealt with measuring your space wrong after taking all the right measurements?

Are you serious? Eight inches! That's brutal, man. I would have been pacing the floor all night after that realization, probably kicking myself for not thinking about the armrests. That is the kind of dumb mistake that makes you question your own intelligence for a solid week. I measured a bookshelf once but forgot to check if the baseboard would block it, so it sat an inch off the wall forever and looked terrible. At least your couch still works, right? Just gotta live with it blocking the hallway until you buy a new one in ten years?

oh totally, @victor_jones99 the baseboard thing hit home lol. i once measured a new tv stand super carefully but forgot the trim on the bottom of the wall was thicker than i thought. ended up with this big gap behind it that collected dust for two years. i kept saying i'd fix it but never did. your couch blocking the hallway is rough though, thats the kind of thing you notice every single time you walk past it. at least it's not like my buddy who bought a recliner without checking if it would fit through the door frame, had to return the whole thing in the box. you'll probably just get used to it until one day you snap and rearrange the whole room out of spite lol.

Did you try angling the couch on its side to squeeze it past the doorway?
