The day my vacuum tried to eat my client's rug
I was cleaning a house over in the West End, just doing my usual thing, when my vacuum cleaner made a weird sound and stopped dead. I looked down and saw it had sucked up a huge corner of this thick, woven rug. I spent the next 45 minutes on my hands and knees with a pair of kitchen scissors, carefully cutting the rug fibers out of the beater bar. The epiphany hit me right then: I was so focused on going fast that I forgot to check what was under the furniture first. Has anyone else had a tool totally turn on them mid-job?
