TIL my 10,000th photo was a blurry shot of my own thumb

I was cleaning out my phone gallery last night and saw the exact count. It hit me that after a decade of trying to be a 'photographer', my biggest milestone image was a total accident, taken while I fumbled with the camera app. All that effort for a perfect shot, and the one that marks the number is pure junk. Makes you wonder what we're really counting, you know? Anyone else have a number that ended up meaning something totally different?

Ever notice how the stuff we track never really shows what matters? Like my phone says I walked 5,000 steps but half were just pacing while on hold. Or I've read 50 books this year according to an app, but the one that actually changed my mind was a beat-up paperback I found on a bus. We love counting things, but the numbers always seem to miss the point. Your blurry thumb photo is the perfect example of that.

Exactly, @susan130! We end up tracking the easy stuff to count, not the things that actually change us.
