My mom's old banana bread recipe calls for a specific brand of vanilla but I lost the page

I visited her house last weekend to dig through her recipe box and found the card but the corner with the vanilla brand name is totally torn off, does anyone know if it was McCormick or Nielsen-Massey that was the standard for 1970s banana bread?

Do you know for sure she even used a fancy brand? My mom was a strict budget cook in the 70s and she always just grabbed whatever was on sale at the grocery store. I think a lot of home bakers back then just used the store brand or even imitation vanilla and the bread still turned out fine.

Does she still have her old grocery list from back then maybe hidden in the pantry?

I mean honestly, alice89 you might be onto something. My grandmother used to keep old shopping lists tucked inside cookbooks and I found one from 1987 that showed she bought butter, flour, and a weird amount of pickles right before my dad's birthday. If I were you I'd check the pantry door or inside the junk drawer near the kitchen. People stash all kinds of random papers in there and forget about them for years. Also look behind photo albums or inside old recipe boxes because those are prime hiding spots for old notes. It sounds crazy but I've found tax receipts from the 90s doing exactly that.
