Showerthought: Why staying silent on stress hurts farriers

I know a farrier who bottled up his worries for years. When he finally took a break, some said he was weak for doing so. I think that view is harmful and outdated. We should encourage more open chats about the pressure we face. It makes the job safer and saner for everyone.

That part about people calling him weak for taking a break really hits home! I heard a podcast where a farrier talked about how holding in stress led to more mistakes on the job. Like, one time he was so tired he trimmed a hoof too short and the horse got lame. Stuff like that shows why we need to talk about pressure! If everyone acts tough all the time, no one learns how to handle hard days. Open chats could stop small errors from becoming big problems.

Tbh, bottling it up just makes the mistakes more likely. We gotta stop acting like talking about pressure is a bad thing.

Remember that farrier @the_gray mentioned? My buddy did the same thing and nicked a tendon.
