My fashion show at the community center turned into a fabric tornado

I was showing my new collection at the local rec center last Saturday, and a huge gust of wind from the open door blew through right as I was explaining my silk draping. It sent six yards of chiffon straight into the mayor's face during his speech. Has anyone else had a public display go totally wrong because of the weather?

Picture the mayor trying to give his big speech with a face full of chiffon. That's a mental image I can't shake. I bet he was spitting out fabric for a week. Did he just stand there frozen or did he try to keep talking through it?

Used to think he'd just freeze up, but I saw the clip. He actually kept going, mumbling through the fabric like a guy trying to order a burger with a mouthful of sock. He even did that little hand wave, like "nothing to see here," while his aides were scrambling. Totally changed my view of the guy's composure.

Man I hadn't even thought about the chiffon part... that stuff is basically fancy cheesecloth, right? Bet it got all up in his teeth and made him look like he was chewing on a ghost. What gets me is the timing though. If this happened right before a big policy announcement, imagine all those reporters taking notes with straight faces while he's back there gagging on fabric. That's the kind of thing that turns a serious moment into a blooper reel nobody forgets.
