Saw a guy in full 1950s business suit biking through the French Quarter yesterday
I was in New Orleans last weekend visiting a friend and this dude rolled past on a cruiser bike wearing a wool three-piece suit, tie, hat, the whole deal. It looked sharp as hell but he was dripping sweat in like 90 degree humidity. So here's the debate: should fashion be about committing to a look no matter what, or should you adapt your style to the weather and situation? Which side do you lean on? I'm still torn.

Wait, he was biking in a wool THREE PIECE suit in that New Orleans heat? @the_derek, you're probably right that dude was one wrong move away from becoming a human jambalaya.

Actually saw a similar thing in Portland once and the guy told me his wool suit was actually designed for biking. Some of those vintage styles have features like gusseted armpits and looser cuts that handle movement way better than modern stuff. Could be this guy just really planned ahead and knew what he was doing.

Committing to a look no matter what" sounds good until you're literally steaming like a crawfish boil in that three-piece suit. Dude was probably more committed to heat stroke than fashion at that point.
