That week I sewed 3 dresses in 5 days and wanted to quit

Last spring I decided to challenge myself to make a whole mini wardrobe for a trip to Portland. Day one was fine, a simple linen shift dress. By day three I was ripping out seams on a satin blouse at 2am and my cat kept stepping on the pattern pieces. The last dress looked okay but I forgot to finish the hem so it frayed after one wear. Has anyone else tried a sewing marathon and ended up with a pile of half-finished projects?

Hate to say it but this sounds like a "you" problem more than a sewing marathon problem. You picked satin for your second project and didn't finish the hem on the last one. That's just poor planning, not bad luck.

@the_mila is right though. I've done the same thing with satin, that stuff slides everywhere unless you pin it to death and use a walking foot. Next time just starch the hell out of it before cutting, it saves the headache.
