TIL a tailor in Chicago said they always cut a test piece from scrap fabric before cutting the main garment.

I tried this on a silk skirt pattern last week and it saved me from a huge mistake with the drape, so has anyone else got a simple pre-cutting check they always do?

Yeah saw an article about that... said it's easy to get stuck in a loop and lose hours.

Man, @rileyb61, that's so true. My buddy got one of those apps last week. He meant to just check it for ten minutes, but he kept fixing one tiny line of code over and over. Next thing he knows, his phone is dead and it's dark outside. He completely missed his own dinner.
