Finally gave in and tried that new composite post driver

I've always sworn by my steel driver for setting posts in our rocky Colorado soil, thinking anything else was just overpriced junk. My crew chief bet me a case of beer it would cut our time on a 200-foot run last Thursday, and honestly, the vibration reduction alone saved my shoulders by the end of the day. Anyone else made the switch and noticed a real difference on tough ground?

How much longer did the composite driver last before showing any wear?

My buddy's composite driver cracked after six months, which makes @the_mary's year of heavy use sound pretty good. He was just hitting off a mat in his garage twice a week.

Honestly, it really depends on how you use it. I got a solid year of heavy weekend work out of mine before the face started to look a little rough. Are you hitting a lot of range balls or just playing rounds? That constant practice mat wear will eat it up way faster. The key is to check the face for little scratches and dings every few months, because that's where it starts. Once you see those, you know the performance is gonna drop off soon.
