PSA: Our brand new fridge's ice maker just quit after 2 weeks and the warranty claim is a nightmare.

The repair guy said it's a known fault with that model line, so now we're stuck with a $1,200 appliance that doesn't fully work while we wait for a part that's on backorder.

Sounds like @fiona_murphy is right about this being a total junk model. These companies just sell broken stuff now.

Our LG fridge has that same ice maker line. It froze once in five years, a $15 part fixed it. Calling the whole model junk seems a bit much... these are complex machines with a lot of parts. Some issues are just normal wear and tear, not a sign everything is broken.

Our Samsung fridge did the exact same thing last year. The water line to the ice maker froze solid, a super common issue. We were without ice for a MONTH waiting for their one approved repair guy to show up.
