Am I the only one who still cuts vinyl plank with a utility knife?
I mean, everyone on my crew uses a miter saw or a jigsaw for LVP, and they think I'm crazy. I picked up a job in a tight apartment last month where the noise and dust were a big issue, so I just went back to scoring and snapping with a sharp blade. It took maybe 15% longer on the cuts, but the client was super happy about the quiet and no cleanup. I've been doing it this way for about two years now on most residential jobs. Has anyone else stuck with the old school method, or is it just me?

Saw a post last week where a contractor in Toronto got fined 500 bucks for running a saw after 7 pm. The condo board had a super strict rule about "quiet hours" starting at 6. Seems like every building has its own crazy specific bylaws now. Your buddy is definitely not alone in that fight.
