You ever try mixing grout without a proper bucket setup? I ditched my paddle last year after a mud job that just wouldn't come together right... turned out the cheap plastic bucket was flexing too much and messing with the mix. Swapped to a stiffer bucket and a flat trowel for the final stir, and it made a huge difference. Paddles work fine for big batches but for small stuff like grout, you get way more control just folding it by hand if you've got the right technique.

Your bucket tip @cole356 just saved my next grout job, I always thought a paddle was the only way.
