Just lost a full day's pay because the 'luxury vinyl plank' I ordered was the wrong thickness

The supplier sent 5mm instead of 6.5mm, and I didn't check the boxes until I was on site. Anyone else have a go-to brand that doesn't mess up specs like this?

Read a thread on another site where a guy said his whole crew got sent home because the underlayment was wrong. He had the same issue, wrong thickness printed right on the box. Took photos of every single box label and emailed them to the supplier with the invoice. They ended up covering a full day's labor for his guys after he showed them the paper trail. Seems like taking pictures right away is the move.

Ugh that's brutal. Did you call the supplier to see if they'll cover your lost time? I had something similar happen with a trim order last year. They sent the wrong profile and I didn't catch it until we were halfway through the install. It's always worth pushing back on them, sometimes they'll throw you a credit for the hassle.

Yeah, faith_carter is right about pushing for a credit. Did you take pictures of the boxes with the wrong specs on the labels? That's what finally got a supplier to cover my guys' time once, because it proved the mistake was on their end before the product even left the warehouse.
