PSA: Saw a 'floating' vinyl plank job in a Denver airport terminal that made me question the trend.

The install looked clean, but a 3/8 inch gap was visible at the wall transition near gate B42 because the baseboard was too short. Everyone says floating floors are the future, but I think direct glue-down is still king for high-traffic commercial spaces. Has anyone else had to fix a gap like that after a floor 'breathed'?

Wait, isn't that gap supposed to be there for expansion? The baseboard should just cover it if it's cut right.

That gap is way too big for just expansion.

But if the baseboard covers it, who cares how big the gap is? The whole point is to let the floor move without making noise.
