Showerthought: I lost a full day's pay on a glue down job because I trusted the wrong moisture meter.
Had a 400 square foot glue down vinyl plank job in a ground floor condo. My old pin meter read fine, so I prepped and started laying. By hour three, the adhesive was bubbling up in patches. Turns out the concrete slab had a moisture issue the pin meter missed completely. Ripped it all up, dried the slab with a rental dehumidifier for two days, and ate the cost of the wasted material and my time. Anyone have a concrete moisture meter they actually trust?

My old pin meter was basically a fancy paperweight that day. It gave me the all clear on a slab that was secretly a swimming pool. I swear those things are only good for telling you if something is already on fire. What brand of meter did you have that failed so spectacularly?

Oh man, that was a cheapo "Pro-Tech" brand from a supply house sale. Felt like a toy even when it worked.

Seriously? It's just a meter.
