This homeowner in Boise swore my floor was 'off by a quarter inch' and I had to prove him wrong

I was finishing up a big glue-down LVT job in a new build last month, and the owner came in for a final walkthrough. He walked straight to the far wall, knelt down, and said, 'This whole run is off. I can see it.' He didn't have a tape measure, just his eyes. I pulled out my 25-foot Stanley and laid it along the wall. It was dead straight for 22 feet. He kept pointing at a spot where the baseboard wasn't installed yet, saying the gap looked bigger. I measured it in three places right in front of him. Each time it was exactly 3/8 of an inch, just like the spec called for. He finally shrugged and said, 'Well, it looks wrong to me.' It wasn't about the floor at all. He was just nervous about his new house. Ever have a client who just wouldn't believe the numbers?
