Vent: My vinyl plank nightmare from not letting materials adjust to room temp

Honestly, I remember rushing a luxury vinyl plank install without allowing the boxes to sit in the room first. Tbh, back then, we often skipped that step, but now I see how crucial acclimation is for preventing gaps and clicks. How do you guys handle material acclimation on tight schedules these days?

Tight schedules make it tempting, but I force a 48-hour acclimation period no matter what. Stacking the boxes flat in the room with spacers between them seems to speed up the temperature and humidity adjustment. That upfront wait saves so many headaches from buckling or gaps down the line.

During a Phoenix summer, @sarah774's 48-hour rule wasn't enough, so we needed a week for the vinyl to stop expanding, lol.

It's fascinating how local climate extremes are testing established rules in fields like construction. Tara_smith82's experience in Phoenix shows that what works elsewhere can buckle under intense heat, literally and metaphorically. Shouldn't this push more professionals to adopt flexible guidelines rather than rigid timelines?
