Had a client in Boise who hated our first proposal for her wedding flowers

She said the mock-up felt 'too stiff and formal' for her backyard event. We switched from tight rose clusters to loose garden-style arrangements with more local greenery and wildflowers. The final setup looked completely different, way more natural and soft. Has anyone else had a client's one comment make you change your whole design plan?

Honestly I see the appeal of that loose look but sometimes it just looks messy. @joelt70 makes a good point about the trend, but a wedding is a formal event. There's a reason people used to want things to look perfect for it.

Totally get that. Had a bride who called our first centerpieces "too perfect." We ripped them apart, used mismatched bottles and let the vines go wild. That one word flipped the whole vibe.

That's so true, it's like we're all scared of things looking too stiff now. You see it everywhere, from home decor to how people dress. It feels like a push back against all those polished, filtered versions of life we see online. We want stuff to look real and lived in, like it has a story. That "too perfect" comment is just the wedding version of choosing a wrinkled linen shirt over a stiff new one. Where do you think that need for imperfection came from all of a sudden?
