My biggest flower order disaster happened at a wedding in Charleston

I had a bride's 200 stem peony and rose arch arrive completely wilted from a heat wave during transit. The ceremony was in 4 hours. I called every local grower I knew, drove to three markets, and ended up mixing in sunflowers and hydrangeas as a backup. It wasn't the planned look, but the bride loved the bright, full result more. Has anyone else had to do a full redesign on site with less than a day's notice?

Honestly that sounds like my average Tuesday. Tbh the panic redesigns always turn out better anyway.

Yeah it's funny how often that works out. I see it all the time with my kid's school projects, you know? He'll have this perfect plan for a diorama and then the glue gun dies or something. He has to use tape and markers instead, and it always ends up looking more creative, more him. The plan falling apart forces you to actually solve the problem right in front of you, not just follow steps. That wedding arch turning into something better feels like the same rule.
