My biggest wedding flower mess up and how I fixed it
I was setting up for a 200 person wedding at the Grandview Hotel last summer. The bride wanted a huge arch with white hydrangeas and roses. Halfway through, I realized my cooler had been set too cold and all the hydrangea heads were turning brown and limp. I had a full blown panic right there in the ballroom. I called my three best local flower shops, told them it was an emergency, and begged for any white hydrangeas they had. I drove to all three places myself, paid a bit over market price, and got back with 45 minutes to spare. The arch looked perfect in the end, but I aged five years that day. Has anyone else had a last minute flower rescue story?

Oh my gosh, that sounds so stressful! I have to know, did you tell the bride what happened after the wedding, or did you just let her enjoy the day thinking everything went perfectly? I'd be so torn between coming clean and just being quietly relieved it worked out.

Reminds me of how we all hide little messes to keep things smooth.

My secret died with the cake.
