I just learned how many tacos a popular truck sells in a day
I was talking to the owner of Taco Loco, the truck that parks by the riverfront, and he told me they sell about 800 tacos on a good Saturday. That blew my mind for a single truck. He said their carne asada is the top seller, making up almost half of those. Has anyone else been surprised by how much food a truck can push out?

Actually saw this happen with my buddy who runs a taco truck over on 5th street. He told me he went through 80 pounds of tortillas one Friday just for the dinner rush and still had to send someone to the store for more. His truck is smaller than Taco Loco too, maybe 6 feet of counter space. The grill guy at his place keeps three separate piles of meat going at once just to keep up.

800 tacos in a day? That is wild. I can barely wrap my head around that. Half of them being carne asada too, that's 400 orders of just that one meat. The grill space on those trucks is tiny, I don't get how they keep up. I've seen the guy at my local truck flipping tortillas nonstop and still wonder how they don't run out of shells.
